Cuban Pewee (Contopus Caribaeus)
The Cuban Pewee is a common resident all over the island of Cuba and Bahamas. It is generally found in pine forests, swamps and mangroves. It is a flycatcher, which means its diet is composed of insects caught on the fly. The Bobito Chico measure approximately 15cm. It displays dark olive-grey on top and dark grey below. Just behind its eye there is a white crescent. The tail is quite long and the beak is broad and flat with a yellow lower mandible. |
